Welcoming remarks were made by Mr. Chavanond Intarakomalyasut, Secretary to the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the keynote speech View on the Global Climate Negotiations was made by Mr. Artur Runge Metzger, Chief Climate Negotiator of the European Commission.After a question and answer session, a roundtable discussion on the subject: The EU's Climate Change Cooperation in Thailand and SE Asia Now and Prospects for the Future took place. The participants of the roundtable discussion were: Dr. Anders Granlund, Director of the Swedish Environmental Secretariat for Asia (SENSA) who spoke on regional cooperation and Dr. Andrew Noble, Regional Director of the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) dealt with food security. Mr. Dimitri Kanounnikoff, Regional Expert for Climate Change, Agence francaise de développement discussed financing national action plans (the Indonesia budgetary support programme as a case study) and Mrs. Delphine Brissonneau, Environment Programme Officer of the European Commission, capacity-strengthening and knowledge-building. The Roundtable Discussion was moderated by Mr. James Fahn, Executive Director of the Earth Journalism Network (EJN).
